Songbook – Messa della Concordia
€12.00
Collection of 12 pieces composed in collaboration with Msgr. PierAngelo Sequeri who, in addition to musical, theological and liturgical consultancy, wrote the texts of 3 songs.
A year of work for something that already declares its end from the title, in an era so troubled by tensions of all kinds. The “Messa della Concordia” was born from a desire: that the gift of harmony of song and music can contribute, in the celebration of the faith and beyond, to unite the hearts, to “intonate fraternity”.
“La concordia – in Italian, the word itself says – evokes harmony of the heart, communion that comes from the heart and is done with the heart …
The composition of this Mass of Concordia, which draws texts and ideas from the liturgical ritual, intends to celebrate a double gift. In the first place, the gift of the brotherhood of the Son, which establishes once and for all the link between the grace of peace with God and the active bonds of peace among men …
In the second place, the gift of harmony of song and music, which the Christian tradition has always considered an integral part of the choral celebration of the faith: in the participation of the holy mysteries, as in the various forms – liturgical and community – of lectio divina and public prayer …
The musical care and the belief of generating fraternity in this Mass are offered with the desire to contribute to the joy and intensity of a common feeling of the celebration. In concord, believers “break the bread” and “are assiduous in prayer”. This music has no other destination. It’s for the concord. “
