Description
Green Vase, one of the works of Ciro, Roberto Cipollone, on a piece of recycled metal represents the still life which, as Ciro says, relives. The artistic piece restores vitality to the objects it is made of.
Green Vase is also the symbol of St. Patrick’s Day, patron saint of Ireland. The arrival of Christianity in that nation is celebrated on 17 March each year. What does the green vase symbolize to them? Wealth, success, abundance, well-being.
The ability to integrate the meanings and symbols of the various cultural circles is the peculiarity of all the artistic activity of Ciro, Roberto Cipollone. The green vase that should symbolize wealth and prosperity is made of an old vase found on the street, discarded, useless to anyone … but not useless to Ciro.
The body of the picture consists of a lid from an old wine barrel.
The contents of the vase, the fruits, also symbolize abundance and well-being. But in Ciro’s work they are made of crushed bottle caps.
At the bottom of the vase are the pieces of the metal sheets found in the trenches of the Trentino of the First World War.
The background of the painting is done with plasterboard putty with a peeling paint to give the touch of color.
And here is the green vase, which normally (in Irish culture) is filled with gold; here it takes on a new meaning: Wealth, success, abundance and well-being are achieved with a commitment to revive what seems dead.
