Centro Ave Ceramics has been involved in the making of artistic ceramics for more than 50 years; it is based in the Tuscan hills near Florence, inside the Citadel of Loppiano. Internationality, dialogue and training: these are the characteristics that have distinguished Centro Ave since its beginnings, which within its workshop engages young people from all over the world. The fusion of different cultures and traditions allows the creation of proposals with designs that are always unique and original. Each creation is handmade and 100% Made in Italy, as the production process takes place entirely in the workshop located in Loppiano. Inside the workshop it is possible to breathe the spirit of the Economy of Communion, typical of the Citadel: a lifestyle that is realized by facing the challenges of social coexistence, following the rule of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” The production, characterized by a refined, clean and essential style, is made entirely of refractory clay: a porous, hard material that conveys a unique and inimitable sense of warmth. The clay, hand-molded in traditional ceramic techniques, before firing at 1000°, is carefully finished and treated to bring out its porosity, which gives each creation a strong identity. The Centro Ave Ceramics collection includes sacred objects, wedding favors, statues and a rich collection of nativity scenes.
